Okay fountain but just okay : STI Smart Solar Terracotta Cascade
I recently had some landscaping done in the front and side of my house. The landscaper left a small space among some of the smaller bushes that would be excellent for some hardscape. I didn't want the piece to be too small and get lost in the plant life. I also couldn't afford (both in fact and figuratively) for the piece to overwhelm this area. My house isn't that large and neither are the plants. I was specifically looking for something with a bit of natural color to offset the greenery and in the 18-22" tall range. This fountain fit perfectly.
Assembly was very simple. The water tube that leads from the pump (in the large bowl at the bottom) to the jar (at the top) has about 1/2" diameter and allows quite a bit of water to flow through. It is about the same size as, and matches well, the cast iron preserve structure. citizen can't in fact see it.
The solar power is very sensitive to the ready light. On a animated sunny day the fountain flows in fact well and the gurgling is animated and cheerful. On a fairly overcast day it doesn't run at all. The solar panel is also fairly sensitive - if the sun hits it at any kind of angle it in fact affect the flow rate. Set the panel so that it's straight on to the sun at the time of day you will be enjoying the fountain and you'll be pleased with it.
The solar panel has two mountings - one for in the ground and one for attaching to an object (like the side of a house or shed) - and allows a lot of flexibility in orienting the panel. The only small issue you may have is with the length of the cord between the solar panel and the pump. If there's a lot of shade in the area you position the fountain, you may not have enough cord to place the solar panel well. There is, however, an Ac adapter, but that kind of defeats the purpose of buying solar powered.
Just check the water level daily (over the summer I had to add water some times a week) and enjoy!
